Homosexual Activism in Oklahoma Public Schools

by David & Deborah Williams
Concerned parents of two public school students in Lawton, Oklahoma

Please circulate this widely. God bless.

We are contacting parents, teachers, organizations, politicians, and churches in cities that have a homosexual club at the local public school or have juvenile homosexual or pornographic literature in the school library.

This article may interest you. Our prayer is that what happened here can be done over and over as school boards, teachers, parents, students, and taxpayers respond in love and truth to gay activism.

A GSA (gay straight alliance) at our son’s school was halted in Lawton, Oklahoma last school year. Development of a listing of family-friendly public schools is quickly becoming a need in America. Please let your local Oklahoma elected officials know your views on this.

"... what happened here can be done over and over ..."

Current Oklahoma State Department of Education policy 210-20-29-3(6) lists sexual orientation as a protected class (see letter below-a copy can be emailed to you on request) Many are wondering who voted to place such wording in the evaluation rules for teachers in Oklahoma.

At the Federal level, hate crimes (against homosexuals) legislation is continually submitted to add sexual orientation as a protected class. It has been voted down many times as such law suppresses freedom of speech for those who believe homosexuality is wrong.

As of November 1, 2005 (recently removed from GLSEN site now that the public is aware) Oklahoma Schools listed on the GLSEN (gay lesbian straight education network- www.glsen.org ) website are:

    Bartlesville HS,
    Bartlesville MHS,
    Booker T. Washington HS {Tulsa},
    Choctaw HS,
    Enid HS,
    Jenks HS,
    Norman HS,
    Norman HS North,
    NW Classen HS,
    Putnam City HS,
    Tonkawa HS,
Tulsa Sch of Arts & Sciences,
    Union IHS {Tulsa},
    Westmoore HS.
Bixby High School was also reported by a local pastor in the area.

An example letter recently sent to the Oklahoma State Superintendent of School’s office ( kay_harley@sde.state.ok.us ). This letter or a similar one could be copied and pasted to send by you also.

Ms. Harley:

Superintendent Garrett's office suggested you would be the person to contact about this issue. State Dept policy 210:20-29-3(6) adds "sexual orientation" to the protected status list for educational policies. As I am sure you are aware, neither federal nor state law requires such a status to be added to a non-discrimination list.

There are parents who would not particularly want their children to be forced to associate with students who profess to be homosexual, bestialists, necrophiliacs, polygamists, etc.

Yet your policy would require that such homosexual, bestialists, necrophiliacs, polygamists, etc. students be mixed in with other students who may not want such an association.

My questions are:

When was this policy enacted?
By whom?
Was there any public input?
Will you change this policy, now that it has been brought to your attention?
If not, what would it take for you to repeal this policy?

Thank you for your attention to this matter

Operation Information

Operation Information is the home website of a coalition of concerned citizens dedicated (determined) to uphold and support an educational system that stands on traditional, conservative American values. We are also determined to expose the city, state and federal agencies that have partnered with the United Nations to subjugate our American sovereignty

Our mission is to research and reveal teachings, methods, and/or curriculum that are contrary to these values. We will also endeavor to expose city, state and federal agencies that have betrayed the trust given to them by "We the People."

Our goal is to protect our children and the educational process, and to encourage the public to take a stand for what is right in both our public schools and city, state and federal entities.

We believe in a Biblical world view, teaching reading, writing and arithmetic, and the passing on of our American culture to our children. We also believe that federal control by any means (directly or indirectly) is unconstitutional.

Since as parents we pay for the schools, our children attend them, and we as parents are Biblically responsible for our children, local control of our schools/education of our children is not an option, it is mandatory. As parents and citizens we also pay taxes that are being misused by our elected officials for agendas that are contrary to our constitution.
